We all know there’s nowhere like Newcastle at Christmas and with the Christmas lights now illuminating the city centre skies, it’s time to start planning for the big day.
And what better a way than a visit to Newcastle’s Christmas market, which opens on Saturday (18 November) on Old Eldon Square, Grey Street and Grainger Street, with a new performance area around Grey’s Monument for live music, choirs, and other festive entertainment.
With a whole array of traders, most of which are from the local area, offering a variety of products, gifts and tasty treats you’re bound to find that perfect present or something for your Christmas table.
Old Eldon Square has also had a festive boost this year, with a 10-metre illuminated Christmas tree and additional lighting to create a more magical space. There will also be a programme of street entertainment running each weekend throughout the market.
And the Grainger Market continues to be at the heart of Newcastle at Christmas. It will also be opening on the Sundays running up until Christmas (3rd, 10th, 17th December) and we’ll be announcing a programme of Christmas arts and crafts soon. There’s also a Santa’s Grotto at units 158-160
