Public Health Intelligence uses a variety of datasets to analyse the health of our residents and inform policy makers.
Here you can find some of the datasets and sources of information we are using that are open to the public.
- Fingertips
Published by Public Health England, Fingertips contains a range of health and well-being indicators, from cancer screening to tobacco and alcohol use prevalence. Users can download the data, but also create their own dashboards after registering on the website.
- NHS Digital
NHS Digital publishes monthly, quarterly, and annual collections on a wide range of health indicators and performance measures. These are usually at a Local-Authority, Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), or NHS Trust level. Examples include the Cervical Screening Programme, Stop Smoking Services, Maternity Services Statistics, Breast Screening Programme, and others.
- Office for National Statistics (ONS)
The ONS is an independent producer of national statistics with regards to causes of death, population estimates, and others.
- The General Practice Data Hub (GPDH)
The GDPH contains a collection of interactive dashboards presenting data from the general practices in England. Data include, among others, the number of prescription items and patients registered in the practice.
