Welfare Rights Service
The Newcastle City Council Welfare Rights team offers specialized welfare benefits casework for residents who meet specific criteria, including:
- People of pension age
- Individuals with severe and enduring mental health conditions
- People with learning disabilities
- Individuals with a social care package
- Children with disabilities and their carers
- Care leavers
- Carers
- Individuals with a critical illness
- People with a registered sensory impairment
- Residents offered a job who need a ‘better off calculation’
Residents of West Newcastle, including Arthurs Hill, Blakelaw, Elswick, Kenton, West Fenham, Monument, and Wingrove, can access face-to-face advice without needing an appointment. Just drop in at the designated locations for assistance. See more details for these sessions here
