Use Viewpoint Server, our online library catalogue, to search for a book, CD, DVD or other items in stock.
You can also use it to:
- Go to the online library catalogue (opens in new window)
- Enter your library card number and PIN. If you do not know your library card number or your PIN, please contact a member of staff at your local library.
- Then click "Renew".
This will automatically renew all items on loan to you except:
- items that are charged for, e.g. videos, DVDs, CDs
- items that have been reserved by another customer.
Go to TopReserve and request items
- If an item listed on our catalogue is not available at your local library you may be able to reserve it for free by asking a member of staff or email us at: information@newcastle.gov.uk or phone us on: 0191 2774100.
- If the item is not on our catalogue we will try to borrow it from another library authority or order it from the British Library.
- Some items, such as recorded music or films on video and DVD can not be reserved but you can recommend we buy them if we don't have them.

- Enter your library card number and PIN. If you do not know your library card number or your PIN, please contact a member of staff at your local library.
- Then click "Login" to see your contact details and the number of items on loan to you.
- Click on "Loans" to see the details of the items on loan and whether you can renew them or not.

- Go to the online library catalogue and click "Borrower Information"
- Enter your library card number and PIN. If you do not know your library card number or your PIN, please contact a member of staff at your local library.
- Then click "Login" to see how many items you've requested.
- Click on "Requests" to see the details of these items.

Public Lending Rights
