Face-to-Face Charity Fundraising

To carry out Face-to-Face Charity Fundraising subscription (direct debit fundraising) you must first obtain a permit from Newcastle City Council. The Council has a policy of only permitting one charity to carry out a collection on any one day. Only two collection days are allowed each week.

Applicants must contact the Licensing Section to check availability of dates. A Face-to-Face Charity collection is permitted by registered charities.

The council requires at least 28 days notice before the date on which it is proposed to make the collection.

How to apply

Email the Licensing Section who will confirm availability and issue you with a confirmation application number, once you have received your confirmation application number you should then complete the application.

Will Tacit Consent apply?

Yes. This means that you will be able to act as though your application is granted if you have not heard by the end of the target completion period which is 28 days from the date of submission of all correct and relevant information.
