Tyne Bridge Publishing relies on our authors. You could write for us!

Tyne Bridge Publishing aims to bring the resources (including books, illustrations, photographs, newspapers, maps) of the Local Studies Collection at Newcastle Libraries to a wider audience; to encourage the examination and exploration of the local environment and its history, by residents and visitors; to encourage visits to libraries in general as well as to Local Studies.

As such any proposal should focus on local history and heritage on Tyneside and be of such a nature to be an economically viable prospect.

You will get royalties, but given the scale of our small publishing organisation, these will be small.  Most of our regular authors write books because they enjoy telling  interesting stories about Newcastle and the North East and the people who lived here.

We will be able to provide you with:

  • Access to books, publications, newspapers and other records at City Library

  • Access to an extensive collection of historical photographs to augment your text

  • Ability to edit, proofread and enhance your text

  • Distribution of your books to quality outlets across the North East and online

If you would like to discuss a proposal you may have, please contact tynebridge@newcastle.gov.uk

The Publications Manager, David Hepworth will discuss your initial proposal.

Ultimately our publishing plan is determined by a Publications Panel.
