Elections

Newcastle City Council is preparing to hold Covid-safe elections to ensure that everyone can take part safely and confidently. Safety measures, such as face coverings, hand sanitiser and social distancing, will be in place to make polling stations safe places to vote and voters will be encouraged to bring their own pens. Voters concerned about going to a polling station can apply for a postal vote, or ask someone to vote on their behalf by proxy. Please see detail below. Future elections

The postponed Local Government and Police and Crime Commissioner elections will take place on Thursday 6 May 2021. If you are not already registered to vote, please register at Register to vote - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) or contact elections@newcastle.gov.uk. For more information on registering to vote, applying for a postal or proxy vote please click here. More details and further information will be published when available.
