Council Tax - Ways to pay your Council Tax
Council Tax is due on the 1st of each month. If you would prefer to pay your Council Tax on a different day consider paying by Direct Debit as this gives you a choice of 28 payment dates. If you pay by direct debit, you can be sure that your payment will reach us on time and you won't have to worry about further recovery action. You can also request to pay your bill over 12 months instead of 10 months, weekly or fortnightly on a Monday or Friday. Direct Debit is the safest and easiest way to pay your Council Tax.
You must be the bank account holder and council tax payer to continue with an online set up. If you are not the account holder or are setting up a Direct Debit for a company you can download a paper Direct Debit form or visit our website for alternative ways to pay.
You can pay your Council Tax using your Debit or Credit card free of charge. You will need to have your council tax reference number, which is shown on your bill, in order to make your payment.
