Are you an experienced internal auditor or someone looking to move into this profession? If so, an excellent opportunity has arisen in our Internal Audit Team.

The Internal Audit Team provides independent and objective assurance on the adequacy and effectiveness of governance, risk management and internal control arrangements in place within Newcastle City Council and a range of external clients across the North East of England.

A key aspect of our work is identifying opportunities to improve value for money and efficiency. The successful candidate will have a critical role in delivering these opportunities through their audits and will support the team with investigations into fraud and other irregularities. You will also have a key role in maintaining strong relationships and championing improvement across all clients.

The post reports to the Chief Internal Auditor and collaborates with other members of the team and the wider Audit, Risk and Insurance Service. Newcastle City Council is committed to facilitating flexible working arrangements and therefore this role allows for remote, and office based working, along with flexible working hours.
