£24,948 - £26,845 per annum, pro rata (actual £14,968 - £16,107 per annum)

An opportunity has arisen within Bereavement Services for a Bereavement Services assistant.

The job includes processing bookings for cremations and burials, issuing and recording all necessary information and ensuring the highest levels of accuracy and customer service are delivered at all times.

The position is part of a small team based in the Civic Centre but working closely with Cemeteries and Crematorium staff, funeral directors, hospital staff, GPs and members of the public who have suffered bereavement and want to arrange a funeral or memorial.

Although training will be given, the post will need to be fully functional from a very early stage. This will require an existing good knowledge of cremation and burial practice and the law relating to both. Excellent communication skills are essential.
