The Governors of Archbishop Runcie Church of England VA First School wish to appoint a Breakfast and After School Club Support Assistant.

We are a welcoming Church of England school with happy, well behaved and highly motivated children and a dynamic, passionate and hardworking staff team. We have high expectations of ourselves and the children. Parents are highly supportive of the school.

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of our growing wraparound provision, under the direction of the Breakfast Club and After School Club Leader, to further advance our school offer. The post will include serving children breakfast and/or a snack and providing a range of activities that engage children during their time in the club. It will be an opportunity to play a full part in the continued development of our vision for all our children to become confident, secure, caring individuals who flourish in the love of God.

This post is suitable for an experienced childcare or supervisory assistant and/or someone with a good level of qualification or someone experienced in working with children. Breakfast Club runs from 7:45am-8:45am and After School Club runs from 3:15pm until 5:15pm. The post includes 15 minutes setting up / tidying up at the end of each session. The postholder will be expected to be flexible and work additional hours to meet the needs of the school where required. There may also be the option of increasing hours to include a lunchtime supervisory role (1 hour per day), if this is of interest to the successful candidate.

We are looking for a caring and meticulous team member who will go the extra mile for the benefit of the school community.

The successful candidate will set high standards for themselves, the school and our children. S/he will have a positive outlook and will be excited at the prospect of working as part of a small team where everyone “mucks in”.

The successful candidates will:

* have experience of supervising and engaging children in purposeful play

* have a passion for creating a purposeful and stimulating environment and engaging activities

* have suitable food hygiene qualifications and experience of dealing with food allergies and intolerances

* communicate effectively with parents and colleagues

* work positively with parents and families and be willing to participate in all aspects of school life

* have high expectations of children's achievements and behaviour

* be flexible and work collaboratively and successfully as team members

* support the vision and Christian ethos of the school
