We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Community Safety Development Officer to work within the Community Safety Team. The focus of our work is to work with partners to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour and improve confidence in neighbourhoods.
The role will heavily involve working with partner agencies to identify and manage strategies to understand community issues as well as overseeing the development and implementation of interventions.
You should have a good understanding of the types of issues that affect communities as well as a sound knowledge of crime and anti-social behaviour and techniques to tackle issues.
Communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role as well as the proven ability to deliver services.
Ideally the candidate will have experience or in-depth knowledge of community consultation and engagement techniques as well as a good understanding of community safety issues and partnership working. You should be competent in using IT systems to record the project implementation and management.
A full, current driving licence is desirable, and it is essential that you have a willingness to work out-of-hours work.
