At this exciting stage of the trust’s journey as we build our capacity in readiness for growth, we are seeking an inspirational strategic leader with a proven track record in successfully improving secondary schools to help us realise our vision that all learners within our influence are well prepared personally, socially and academically for the next stage of their lives in a changing world.

Our trust of currently five schools within the East End of Newcastle upon Tyne is at the heart of its local communities. We embrace working collaboratively and in partnership inside and outside of the trust to transform the life chances of our young people and support their families to enable this.

This new role will work closely with the CEO to develop our school improvement strategy to maximise impact with a specific focus on the trust’s secondary academies. Your first priority will be to successfully integrate new academies into the trust and build our internal capacity for our schools to initially support each other and then work with other schools that share our vision and values, particuarly in areas with high levels of disadvantage. You will also be an intergral member of the trust’s Executive Team, working with the Board of Directors to shape the future direction and strategy of the trust as a whole.

A consistent and proven track record at a senior level of secondary school improvement with experience of developing and successfully implementing whole school strategies to rapidly improve pupil outcomes is absolutely essential for this exciting role. Combined with this, you will have the proven ability to lead transformational change and leadership qualities that motivate and drive forward individuals and teams to be successful across a whole range of indicators, not just academic performance.

This role is fixed-term, initially under 31 August 2023. You will need to be able to travel within the north east region to collaborate with a range of colleagues and external partners.
