An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and inspiring PE specialist to join our team with a teaching and learning responsibility as Head of Girls PE. The role will also involve acting as Second in Department supporting the Head of Faculty of PE in wider department leadership including oversight of either KS3, KS4 or KS 5 or after school programmes, depending on faculty needs.

Our PE faculty are a department of 8 staff. Our students receive 3 hours per of PE per fortnight in core PE. At Key Stage 4 we offer NCFE level 1/2 Health and Fitness and GCSE Physical Education (AQA). At Key Stage 5 we currently offer a Cambridge Technical award, extended certificate (OCR) in Sport and Physical Activity. The faculty is well resourced with a double sports hall, fitness suite, gymnasium, MUGA, 3G astro turf and extensive playing fields.

We believe in developing leadership skills and a life long passion for sport and physical activity.

If you are the person we are looking for you will possess a broad base of subject knowledge, a proven track record of effectiveness and impact as a classroom teacher, and strong analytical skills with the ability to use data effectively to track progress and raise achievement.

You will possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to present your views and opinions and to challenge, give feedback and take feedback constructively. You will possess the ability to work effectively with all students, engaging them through exciting yet challenging lessons and embedding a culture of high expectations and positive behaviour for learning. You will have the potential to think and act strategically with the innovation and initiative to support the visions and aims of the department, school and wider trust.
