We are seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join our central team as we continue to develop our in-house business services. This role is key to our capacity building as the trust is set to grow. It is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our common purpose to nurture, achieve, educate and transform to benefit young people and their families.

The focus of the role is on providing an effective HR advisory service across our schools which can meet the needs of the trust’s leaders and enable them to make employment decisions consistent with the trust’s policies, vision and values. Meanwhile you will contribute to the continuous improvement of the HR procedures and processes and work collaboratively with school-based business support colleagues and our external payroll provider to ensure effective recruitment and selection processes, a seamless transactional HR service and comprehensive employee records.

Experience of providing advice on a broad range of HR issues including performance management, organisational change, sickness and disciplinary will be essential. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels, as well as an eye for detail and strong administrative skills. Previous experience of providing HR services in a schools / academy trust will be a distinct advantage and experience of supporting TUPE or job evaluation would be desirable.

You will need to be able to travel within the region and therefore access to your own transport is essential.

We provide access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, a generous annual leave entitlement and have an accrued time policy.

Please contact Keeley Finlay, HR Manager, on 0191 2284099 if you would like to discuss this opportunity informally.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. It is essential that all staff and volunteers share this commitment. You will need to have an enhanced criminal records check by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
