Are you a highly experienced social work leader? Are you committed to providing excellent services to vulnerable children and families? Do you want an employer who will enable you to have the career that is right for you?

If this is you then Newcastle City Council wants you!

To support our vision for children and families we are recruiting a Principal Advisor to creatively shape, develop and implement our strategic plan supported by our senior management team. Working closely with the Assistant Director for Children’s Social care you will lead on work across our transformation agenda to ensure we achieve operationally robust system change that achieves the best outcomes for children and young people. Working with others is fundamental to this role, so being able to build, manage, and influence partners and networks, in order to work together to deliver results is key.

This is an exciting time to join us. With significant financial support from our Council we are embedding a new relational family valued model of social work based on systemic practice across our service. Our commitment to transforming how we work has been recognised with our selection to the DFE’s Strengthening Families Protecting Children programme (read more here https://www.newcastle.gov.uk/citylife-news/education/new-project-newcas…).

In return we will support you to succeed, and you will receive:

• A dedicated 5-day induction

• Generous annual leave in addition to Bank Holidays with the ability to buy additional leave annually

• A range of flexible working options

• A generous Flexi Scheme

• Access to Mindfulness sessions and other wellbeing initiatives

• Access to a generous, defined benefit pension scheme

• Access to home electronics and car leasing schemes

• Generous relocation package.
