Part time - 19.47 hours per week (3 days)

Required for April 2020

One year fixed term contract.

Prosper Learning Trust is seeking to appoint an outstanding Science Teacher to join our successful team, working 3 days per week.

Prosper Learning Trust was established in January 2018 and consists of Newcastle Bridges School, Mary Astell Academy, Thomas Bewick School and Harry Watts School. We are striving to further build collaboration across the schools and grow as a Multi Academy Trust, whilst continuing to strengthen our relationships with schools outside the MAT for the benefit of our students.

The post will initially be based in the Kenton Provision of Newcastle Bridges School, which was rated “Outstanding” by Ofsted in 2016. Newcastle Bridges School at Kenton is an educational setting predominantly for students aged 11-16 with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. It offers a smaller and more nurturing environment than most mainstream secondary settings. A secondary curriculum is followed and students sit external exams.

We are looking to appoint a specialist Science teacher who is able to demonstrate an ability to teach all three Sciences to Key Stage 3 and 4 students. Flexibility and an understanding of the specific needs of our students are essential requirements of the post, which may suit a newly qualified teacher or an experienced Science practitioner looking for a new challenge or experience. The successful candidate will be employed by Prosper Learning Trust and could be expected to work at any Prosper Learning Trust site.

Prosper Learning Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and anyone applying to work within the Trust is expected to share this commitment. This position is subject to a satisfactory fully enhanced DBS check and references being received.

As the post involves working with vulnerable children and dealing with sensitive information, written references will be taken up and made available to interviewers before the final selection stage, even if you indicate otherwise.
