We have a number of Senior Business Support Officer vacancies, both full and part time, permanent and temporary available; supporting the following areas of business across the council.

Team Co-ordinator, Children’s Social Care

You will work within a team of social care staff supporting their work in delivering care services to our most vulnerable children. You will play a key role in contributing to the delivery of Business Support services, providing high level support to Children’s Social Care. This role is based in Allendale Road, Newcastle. Children and Adults Safeguarding boards

You will play a key role in arranging meetings, preparing agendas, and taking minutes, in service areas where the content is extremely confidential and can be disturbing. This role is based in the Civic Centre but you will be expected to work in various locations across the city. Customer Complaints and Schools Appeals support

You will respond to complaints within statutory timescales across Children’s and Adults Social Care and also support Schools Appeals process. You will be required to monitor workflow within the team and coach and mentor staff. You should have the ability to review and streamline procedures as required and produce step by step procedures for staff to follow. This role is based in the Civic Centre. Community Mental Health team, Adult Social Care (30 hours per week)

You will be supporting the Community Mental Health Team together with Connie Lewcock and Byker Lodge Resource Centres. You will be required to monitor workflow within the team and coach and mentor staff. You should have the ability to review and streamline procedures as required and produce step by step procedures for staff to follow. This role is based at Westgate College, Newcastle. All applicants must:

• Have excellent customer service and call handling skills

• Be prepared to work in a busy office environment with senior officers and a range of internal and external customers

• Possess excellent organisational skills, able to plan and meet multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines for yourself and other team members

• Be familiar with Microsoft Office, with a high level of accuracy

• Possess excellent communication skills.
