Marriage and Civil Partnership Premises Licence
Under legislation the Council grants licences for the provision of Marriage and Civil Partnership Ceremonies in certain premises.
When an application is made, the Fire Brigade, and a Council Enforcement Officer inspect the premises. This is to determine suitability of the premises for the licence.
An advertisement has to be placed in a local newspaper on one occasion only however 28 days are allowed for objections to be received to the Licensing Office.

Will Tacit Consent Apply?
No. However our target period for processing a correctly completed application is 90 days from receipt with the Licensing Authority. This time frame is based upon no objections being made to the application and all reports being satisfactory. We shall confirm within 14 days receipt of your application. If no confirmation is received please contact the Licensing Office.
