The Montagu estate neighbourhood ,home to over 2,000 residents, has experienced problems in the last year with motorbike disorder, litter, fly-tipping , waste, aggressive cold calling and crimes such as theft of valuables from parked cars. A range of partner organisations are due to attend including Northumbria Police,  Tyne and Wear Fire Service, Safe Newcastle, the EPiC Team, Trading Standards , YHN and local councillors Stephen Lambert, Ged Bell and Paula Maines, the local authority's Lead on Community Safety.

Councillor Stephen Lambert, Chair of the Kenton Ward committee, said: ''Tackling  anti-social behaviour and boosting community  safety is a key priority for Montagu and Kenton. That's why we welcome the Crime Prevention morning open to all residents and traders across our neighbourhoods. We're urging local people to drop in and get useful tips crime prevention tips from the EPiC  team and their partners.''

''The crime prevention event will also focus on community consultation to make sure the voices of resident are held and acted on'', he added.
