MAKE YOUR MARK 2020
Every year we encourage and support young people who live, learn or work in Newcastle to take part in a national decision-making process.  UK Youth Parliament's Make Your Mark gives a unique opportunity to reach out to young people aged between 11-18 years, who will go on to be opinion formers and leaders of the future.

'The Make Your Mark ballot orders the top five issues, but those chosen for the UK wide priorities debate must include 2 UK wide topics and 3 Devolved topics. Due to the devolved nature of the UK democracy and to ensure relevant representation of the issues from all nations.

This year all voting will be online and hosted through the UK Parliament website.
Your organization will need to register by early September.  Voting goes live on 1st November until 30th November. Online resources will be available when you register.  Results will be announced in early December. How will this work in 2020?

All local members of youth parliament (MYP) have been called to an annual sitting in September.  At the sitting the MYP’s debate local issues and priorities over two days.  At the end of the annual sitting MYP’s will make a vote based on the arguments they have heard during their annual sitting.

As a result, the top 10 UK devolved topics and a menu of local topics are collated together for Make Your Mark.  Young people from across the Country will be asked to vote and provide their postcode. This will mean the results can be broken down into Ward, Local Authority, and UK Parliament Constituency. Unfortunately, this means that we won’t be able to share results by schools, college or youth group.

British Youth Council (BYC) will contact all those organizations that have participated in Make Your Mark before.
