Byelaws - Urinating and Defecating in a Public Place

Byelaws made under section 235 of the Local Government Act 1972 by the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne for the good rule and government of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne and for the prevention and suppression of nuisances.

 

Extent

1. This byelaw applies throughout the City of Newcastle upon Tyne.

 

Urinating and Defecating in a Public Place

2. No person shall urinate or defecate in any public place.

 

Penalty

3. Any person offending against byelaw 2 shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding level 2 on the standard scale.

 

 

The Common Seal of the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne was hereunto affixed this 10th day of July 2003 in the presence of :

The foregoing byelaws are hereby confirmed by the Secretary of State and shall come into operation on the twenty-first day of October 2003
