Calling on government

Shaping national policy

As a council we have set clear and ambitious targets for the city of Newcastle, but more needs to be done by government to help us on our journey.

With North of Tyne Combined Authority, devolution has given us some powers but we would need more powers over transport to shape the public transport network which will help us deliver climate change.

We are calling on national government to ensure we have the resources and national polices to help us achieve our aims. This includes Planning guidance so we have more say on what developments can take place in our city.
