The City of Newcastle has a vast array of beautiful parks, denes, recreation grounds and countryside to explore. The Council is responsible for many of these open spaces including play areas, the Town Moor and closed cemeteries and churchyards.

Many of the city’s parks and allotments as well as some play areas are now managed by Urban Green Newcastle, a charitable trust established by Newcastle City Council to care for our estate.
