An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Early Years Sector Support Team to support the National Wraparound Project in Newcastle upon Tyne. This team is focused on supporting early years and childcare settings including school aged provision, in Newcastle.
The National Wraparound Project is funded by Department for Education and is about developing childcare that wraps around the school day delivering an 8am-6pm term time offer for working parents and carers. This will involve a diverse range of tasks including:
Using and collecting data to identify gaps and inform plans for development.
Supporting the development of new and expanded provision.
Monitoring and reporting on a targeted start-up fund.
Working with a broad range of partners and organisations to ensure that parents and carers are aware of existing and new provision and how they can access it.
Sharing information with and fielding queries from schools, private providers of wrap around, childminders and parents.Experience and knowledge of wraparound childcare is required. Good ICT skills and knowledge of working and excel are essential, as are good communications skills and ability to work as part of a team.
You will also be part of a wider team that supports the sector to improve the quality of childcare and early years services to families, funding and eligibility for families, training and workforce development. This is a time of exciting and significant change to Newcastle’s early years and childcare sector.

The job involves a combination of office and home working and can allow considerable flexibility in working patterns.
