We currently have a vacancy for a Health and Social Care Officer to work 18.5 hours per week on a rota basis within Newcastle City Council’s Care Services teams, the post will be based at

Byker Lodge, our short-term assessment centre for older people who are living with a cognitive impairment.

This post involves working on the front-line providing care and support to some of the most vulnerable adults in the city. We are looking for applicants with a flexible approach who are committed to making a real difference to people’s lives.

Our staff work closely with health colleagues and must be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to promoting independence, health, wellbeing and choice to those who use our services. Maintaining the dignity of service users must be always a priority and successful applicants must be able to deliver personal care with great sensitivity.

Being able to work shifts and unsociable hours (including weekends) is essential for all posts.
