You will be joining a dedicated high performing team, dedicated to providing support to families and individuals.

What about the role?

We need an enthusiastic and reliable person to join us as a Housing Support Assistant working as part of our Temporary Accommodation Service. You will help to make sure that the council’s Temporary Accommodation Service is well run and meets the needs of our residents. You will be the first point of contact for new residents and your duties will include: providing a first point of contact on reception, providing basic information and support, supporting move on arrangements, cleaning and handling small amounts of money.

You should be compassionate and committed to providing support and excellent customer service to vulnerable residents. You need to be calm, confident, tactful and able to handle difficult situations. It is essential that you are capable of regular lifting and carrying of materials and furniture. The post involves working a shift pattern as the premises need to be staffed 24 hours a day.
