Are you an experienced and creative changemaker? Are you committed to improving outcomes for children and families? Newcastle City Council is embarking on an exciting time in its Early Help Services. As part of Collaborative Newcastle, the Council is reimagining its approach to Early Intervention and Prevention, working with partners to create an integrated city-wide offer: Children & Families Newcastle.

We are looking for experienced Intensive Family Support Keyworkers to join our Early Help team and be part of our ambitious transformation plans to improve outcomes for children and families. An experienced practitioner, you will provide parenting and family support to parents and carers of children and young people in order to enhance the potential for positive outcomes.

As an Intensive Family Support Keyworker, you will enjoy being part of a dynamic team, shaping the direction of Newcastle’s Early Intervention Offer. You will work within the principles of intensive family working: providing a whole family, intensive, persistent, strengths based, assertive approach using practical and therapeutic interventions.

You will be skilled at maintaining relationships with families and in helping them to develop more effective strategies and skills to care for and improve outcomes for their children.

You will be comfortable undertaking individual case work and as keyworker act as the key point of contact for the families with whom you work. You will equally be confident in representing the best interests of families to a range of partners including external agencies.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, assertive individual who is able to support families and to contribute to the work to achieve the outcomes of the Newcastle Family Outcome Plan.
