The posts comprise of a permanent Occupational Therapist full-time working with adults

1x 2-year fixed term post working with adults

1 x 2-year fixed term post working with children and families

The adult Occupational Therapy team has a mix of Disability Assessment Officers, and qualified Occupational Therapists and work with adult residents of Newcastle who are experiencing functional problems accessing their homes due to physical disability, mental health or learning disability.

The work is varied with involvement in everything from assessing for and providing equipment and minor adaptations through to major adaptations and manual handling assessments and recommendations. We are looking for a motivated person who is interested in working in adult social care to support residents of Newcastle to remain living in the community in their safest most independent way. Someone who likes variety in their working day and strives to do their best for the people they are working with.

The Children Occupational Therapy post is brand new and an opportunity to gain experience in assessing for and recommending major adaptations, alongside a very experienced Occupational Therapy colleague.

The Occupational Therapy service is very supportive and offers regular CPD opportunities, we have good links with our health colleagues.

You should have a relevant Occupational Therapy qualification such as a Degree in Occupational Therapy, or a Diploma in Occupational Therapy, and must have current HCPC registration.
