Newcastle City Council is seeking to appoint a Public Health Practitioner to join our passionate and ambitious Public Health team working on the Quality Healthcare Portfolio .

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving and influencing public health action across a great city that makes history and shapes the future.

This role will cover key public health priorities for stop smoking services and tobacco control, sexual health services, and NHS health checks by applying evidence-based practice and partnership working across the local integrated care system. This will involve developing, implementing, and evaluating a range of public health programmes and interventions including commissioning services within the quality healthcare portfolio.

The ideal candidate will have experience of partnership working and stakeholder involvement with a broad range of partners and organisations across the health and care system.

This role will suit someone who is passionate about addressing health inequalities and keen to develop their experience of contributing to local, regional policy and strategy. You will be contributing to the overall aims of the public health department service plan and local authority priorities.
