Newcastle City Council are looking for 4 Refugee Transitions and Integration Officers to deliver intensive case work support to people seeking sanctuary in the city. You will be joining a busy and passionate team, whose ambition is to deliver excellent support and make a real difference to people’s lives.
The successful candidates will be responsible for managing a case load of clients, offering appropriate advice and guidance to asylum seekers, refugees and other new arrivals to the city.
The successful candidates will contribute to the council’s ambition to be a City of Sanctuary by providing support, advice and guidance to refugees to facilitate transition to a stable LIFE (somewhere to live, and income, financial inclusion and employment) and support with integration into the cultural and community fabric of the city.
The successful candidates will have a working knowledge of housing and welfare rights, and ideally have knowledge and experience of delivering one to one case work support to refugees through work, voluntary or lived experience. Experience working with a range of local statutory and non-statutory partners would be a key advantage, along with knowledge of the local support offer. You will also be able to demonstrate your ability to use initiative and be excellent at building and maintaining relationships.
