The Bishop Bewick Catholic Education Trust (BBCET) is a group of 34 Primary schools and 5 High schools across three local authorities (Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland).
At BBCET we want to ensure that all the children in our schools experience the best education possible. We are committed as a community of schools to support each other to develop and realise our full potential, so that in turn all employees, pupils and the families we serve thrive.
Due to the promotion of an existing member of our team we are seeking someone to join our enthusiastic and supportive finance team based in Fenham in the key role of Senior Accountant.
You will need to enjoy working in a busy environment and have excellent accounting, communication and IT skills to give effective support to the Trust.
This role requires someone fully qualified as an accountant. You should be capable of building relationships in an approachable, professional manner. You do not necessarily have to have experience in an educational establishment, although this would be an advantage.
An excellent benefits package is offered including the following:

A competitive salary

Access to training and support to develop further

Equivalent of a minimum 25 days holiday per year, plus public holidays

Enhanced sick pay of up to 26 weeks full pay (after qualifying period)

Eligible to be part of the Local Government pension scheme (current employer contribution rate of 18.1%).

Family friendly BBCET policies and practices that promote health and wellbeing

Access to car lease, bike to work and local travel pass salary sacrifice scheme

We are committed to safeguarding and the protection of all our pupils therefore the post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
