Newcastle Parking Services play a key role in supporting residents; businesses and visitors across the city through the provision of parking places and enforcement of parking and bus lane restrictions to keep the city moving and maintain the safety of pedestrians; drivers and their passengers.
This is an exciting time to join Parking Services in a back office, administration role supporting the Notice Processing Manager for the parking services team. The job holder will play a pivotal role in helping to supervise a diverse team who process both appeals against Parking Penalty Charge Notices, assessing requests for parking permits as well as being the primary point of contact for members of the public who may have parking related queries.
The post holder will contribute to policy development and assist the Notice Processing Manager with supervision, guidance and development of staff and with the implementation of best practices and procedures resulting from new legislation/enforcement.
To undertake quality assurance checks to support service delivery and assist the Notice Processing Manager in preparing correspondence relating to key stakeholders, corporate complaints and freedom of information requests.
Candidates must enjoy employing good IT skills whilst using generic and bespoke software systems and work within data protection guidelines.
Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced; high volume team environment and have excellent communication and organisational skills.
Experience of processing penalty charge notices in either a parking, bus lane, clean air zone or similar environment and responding to written representations and appeals would be beneficial for this role. Along with experience of evaluating and making decisions in relation to applications for services such as parking permits.
