Stores Controller

Fixed term 24-month contract

37 hours per week (Mon- Fri 5-day week)

The position of Stores Controller is within City Transport’s Newington Road depot. You will be required to work a 5-day working week.

The successful applicant will have extensive knowledge and experience of working in a store's environment. They will have the skills to become part of stores team ensuring the supply of materials to departments throughout all service areas within the authority.

In addition, they will be supporting Highways, Traffic signals and City Transport directly to procure and issue vehicle parts and workshop consumables to workshop staff.

They will have a knowledge of waste management systems and health and safety arrangements, as well as effective communication skills and the ability to interact with people from all service areas and with external suppliers.

Applicants must possess good IT skills and a good working knowledge of inventory management systems.

Experience of vehicle maintenance parts stores and council procurement would be advantageous.

Applicants must hold a valid category B driving licence.

Hold a fork- lift truck licence is desirable
