Argyle Street

The bridge at Argyle Street, over the railway line, is closed to traffic. 

Please access Argyle Street car park via New Bridge Street.

Blandford Square

Three of the pay and display bays at Blandford Square car park are being converted into electric vehicle charging point bays.

Kingston Park

From May 13 until August 31 approximately 70 pay to park bays in Kingston Park car park have been reserved by Nexus Rail.

Saville Place

Until 30 June 2025 13 pay and display bays in Saville Place car park have been reserved by Newcastle City Council for a storage area in the car park for a contractor working on Northumberland Street.    

The Garage at The Helix

From Monday 20 November 2023 the closing times for this car park will be amended to 10.00pm each day, with the car park re-opening the following day at 6.00am

College Street

On July 7 between 9.45 am and 11.45 am there will be no access into or exit out of College Street car park due to a road closure being in operation to support the Great North 10km run event.

The closest alternative off street car parks and multi storey car park are located at either, Hancock Street car park NE2 4PU, Morden Street car park NE1 7RQ, Osborne Terrace car park NE2 1NE, Sandyford Square car park NE1 8PP, St Georges car park NE2 1DF or Eldon Garden multi storey car park NE1 7RT, Eldon Square multi storey car park NE1 7RZ.

Ellison Place

On July 7 between 9.45 am and 11.45 am there will be no access into or exit out of Ellison Place car park due to a road closure being in operation to support the Great North 10km run event.

The closest alternative off street car parks and multi storey car parks are located at either, Hancock Street car park NE2 4PU, Morden Street car park NE1 7RQ, Sandyford Square car park NE1 8PP, St Georges car park NE2 1DF or Eldon Garden multi storey car park NE1 7RT, Eldon Square multi storey car park NE1 7RZ, Manors multi storey car park NE1 2BN.

On July 7 between 9.45 am and 11.45 am there will be no access into or exit out of St Mary’s Place car park due to a road closure being in operation to support the Great North 10km run event.

Oxford

On July 7 there will be no access into or exit out of Oxford multi storey car park due to a road closure being in operation between 4.00 am and 1.00 pm to support the Great North 10km run event.

The closest alternative off street car parks and multi storey car parks are located at either, Argyle Street car park NE1 6PF, Morden Street car park NE1 7RQ or Eldon Garden multi storey car park NE1 7RT, Eldon Square multi storey car park NE1 7RZ, Manors multi storey car park NE1 2BN. 

Eldon Garden

The electric vehicle charging points are due to be replaced, so in the interim period there may be periods where the existing electric vehicle charging points may be out of service.   

Ellison Place East

Until July 19 3 disabled bays in Ellison Place car park, the first 3 bays closest to Durant Hall, have been reserved for skips.

Grainger Town multi-storey car park

The electric vehicle charging points are due to be replaced, so in the interim period there may be periods where existing electric vehicle charging points are out of service.

Weather related disruption

During winter weather conditions multi storey car park roof sections may be closed at:

• Eldon Garden
• Eldon Square
• Grainger Town 

These closures are to keep people safe.  

When roof levels are closed notices will be put up to advise drivers.

During these closures season ticket permit holders can park in pay and display bays on lower levels of these car parks.
