The purpose of this document is to provide a practical guide that details the adoptable standards Newcastle City Council requires in relation to the design and construction of highway works. This will be of assistance to developers who wish to enter into Section 278 or Section 38 Agreements with the council. 

Appendix B relates to the palette of materials and were approved at Cabinet 25 November 2015. Supporting Development in Newcastle Developer Guidance Cabinet Report 25 November 2015 (pdf 113 KB).  The purpose of these appendices to the existing Design and Construction of Roads and Accesses to Adoptable Standards Guide is to minimise the proliferation of different paving and surfacing materials throughout the City and sets out palettes of materials for adopted highways.
