North East Community Forest consultations
North East Community Forest consultations
As we look to plant woodland across the North East Community Forest area we may from time to time ask for your views about the proposed locations for trees near where you live.
Below you will find:
- details of current consultations and how to get involved
- information about previous consultations, for sites where you may now be able to help us plant trees
If you would like to find out about other volunteering opportunities related to the forest, please email the North East Community Forest team.
Thank you for taking the time to read these proposals and we look forward to your feedback.

North Tyneside
Henley Gardens in Wallsend
We have identified a number of sites in North Tyneside that we are excited to propose tree planting for.
This includes the planting of native tree species along the existing tree line on the grassland at Henley Gardens in Wallsend.
The planting of these trees will:
- strengthen and enhance the existing tree line that separates the grassland from the A19
- help to reduce noise and the visual impact of the A19
- remove harmful emissions from the atmosphere
- increase biodiversity in the area
In designing this scheme, we have been careful to ensure that we retain a lot of green open space as we understand that this is valued by residents.
We welcome your comments on this proposal and would also like to hear from you if you would be interested in volunteering for any planting days.
To contact us:
- email North Tyneside Council's tree planting team

Please provide any comments by 24 February 2022.
