School Crossing Patrols

We currently have seven School Crossing Patrol sites, these are:

1. Coast Road/Newton Road
2. Great North Road/Broadway East
3. Whickham View
4. Christon Road
5. Armstrong Road
6. Broadway East/Granville Road
7. Trevelyan Drive

As of the 21 July 2017, only sites 1 and 2 are funded by the Local Authority as these are classified as high risk sites requiring both formal crossing facilities and a School Crossing Patrol Officer. A decision was taken by Newcastle City Council to only fund these two posts as a response to ongoing budget reductions.

All other sites are externally funded but managed by the Road Safety Team.
