Local bridges closed to vehicles
Local bridges closed to vehicles
We have made the decision to permanently close five local bridges to traffic, as part of our commitment to reduce traffic cutting through local streets and improve local neighbourhoods for the people who live there.
Vehicles cannot drive across:
- Salters Bridge in Gosforth
- Castle Farm Road, next to Jesmond Dene
- Haldane Bridge in South Jesmond
- Argyle Street bridge in Ouseburn
- Stoneyhurst Road Bridge in South Gosforth
More information about why we have done this is can be found in our news story about bridge closures.
