Our Adelaide Terrace
Our Adelaide Terrace
Introduction
Our Adelaide Terrace’ is part of the Newcastle High Streets Programme funded by the UK Government through the North-East Combined Authority. This transformation programme aims to revitalise selected high streets in the city including Adelaide Terrace, Benwell.
Through engagement and consultation with local communities, we’ve identified three priorities:
• Care & Maintenance – Improve the look and feel of the high street, tackle litter, and reduce clutter.
• Natural Space – Enhance green spaces and make them accessible for everyone.
• Play & Recreation – Create opportunities for communities to meet, spend time together, and provide spaces for children to play.
How can I get involved?
We have commissioned local VCSE organisations to deliver activities until March 2026 that will address the issue of waste and litter while engaging people from all parts of the community.
