Pay a fine (penalty notice) for school non-attendance

If you have received a penalty notice for your child's non-attendance at school, you can pay it in several ways.

Paying online 

To pay online, you will need:

• Your credit or debit card (we do not accept American Express, JCB or Diners Club cards)
• Your six-digit reference number

The cardholder must be present during the transaction.

Paying by phone

To pay by phone, call 0191 278 7878 and ask for "payments".

This option is available on Monday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Tuesday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. You will need a debit or credit card.

Paying in person

You can pay in person at any shop or outlet displaying the 'PayPoint' logo.

You will need to take your letter with the barcode with you. Payment can be made with cash or card where accepted.
