Great North Road, Gosforth

We have been working to develop improvements to the bus routes along the Great North Road in Gosforth and invite you to have your say on these proposals. 

You can view the drawings of these plans (PDF) and changes to the current layout include: 

• New section of bus lane north bound between Forsyth Road and the approach to Blue House Roundabout. 
• New section of bus lane on the north bound flyover from the Great North Road to the approach to the Rotary Way roundabout.  
• Replace the existing pedestrian refuge near the entrance to High Gosforth Park and the Racecourse with a signalised puffin crossing. 

You have until Sunday 2 March 2025 to have your say on these plans by sending your comments to transport@newcastle.gov.uk, or stakeholders can arrange an appointment to share their feedback. 

We will use your comments to inform any changes to our proposed plans and we will publish more information online with final plans going to Cabinet later in 2025.
