Records Search Fee

We are currently unable to carry out any grave searches. Please contact us again towards the end of January 2025.

If you wish to request a records search, please send an email to bereavementservices@newcastle.gov.uk, with as much detail as possible, including the person's name, address and their date of death, or write to us by post to the address above. We are unable to accept search requests by phone.

A search fee will be applied for each request where an in-depth search of the registers is required. Our earlier records are held in hard copy registers and some searches can be time consuming to complete.

Please note that we do not hold any churchyard records and some of our registers are held by the Tyne and Wear Archives and Museums.

Hall of Remembrance

The Books of Remembrance can be viewed online or in person at the Hall of Remembrance at the West Road Crematorium. Please note the Hall will close 15 minutes prior to the West Road Cemetery gates being closed.
