Dinnington Neighbourhood Plan
Publicity of pre-submission Dinnington Neighbourhood Plan
Dinnington Parish Council, as the qualifying body for the purposes of neighbourhood planning for the Dinnington Neighbourhood Area, have submitted the Dinnington Neighbourhood Plan to Newcastle City Council for Independent Examination.
The City Council is satisfied that the submission is complete and complies with legal requirements. The Dinnington Neighbourhood Plan independent examination has now commenced.

Referendum
The City Council considers that the Plan, as modified, meets the basic conditions as set out in paragraph 8(2) of Schedule 4B to the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 and that the Plan complies with provisions made by or under sections 38A and 38B of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004. Accordingly, the Plan may proceed to referendum. The City Council is satisfied that the referendum area shall be the Dinnington Parish Neighbourhood Area which comprises the civil parish of Dinnington.
The Dinnington Parish Neighbourhood Plan, as modified, will now proceed to a local referendum on Thursday 22 May 2025. The Plan will now be given significant weight in decision making.
