Apply for a school place

In this area you can find how to apply for a school place. There are five occasions when a child may need to make an application for schools:

Reception - Starting school

Starting: September 2021

If your child is born between 1 September 2016 and 31 August 2017 you can apply for a reception place for September 2021.

Transfer - Moving from First to Middle school

Starting: September 2021

If your child is in year 4 in a first school you need to apply for a middle school for year 5

Transfer - Moving from Primary to Secondary school

Starting: September 2021

If your child is in year 6 in a primary school  you need to apply for a secondary school for year 7

Transfer - Moving from Middle to High school

Starting: September 2021

If your child is in year 8 in a middle school you need to apply for the high school for year 9

In Year - Other applications to change school

If you have moved to the area or want to change schools at any time other than the above, you need to make an in-year application. Please click on the link for more information.

Please note, we do not deal with nursery or sixth form places. You need to contact the school directly.

Did you know?

Closing date for Transfer applications is: 

31 October 2020 (12 noon)

Closing date for Reception applications is: 

15 January 2021 (12 noon)

We do not have a reception desk for visitors or appointments in person.  We also have no facility for you to hand in applications or supporting evidence at the Civic Centre.
