Delivering Social Value
Delivering Social Value
What is Social Value
Our Social Value Commitment sets out what we understand by social value and how we design this into our commissioning and procurement activity.
The information below explains how we are delivering against our commitment.
How we are doing
We have developed a range of data sets to help us better understand how we are delivering our social value aims. Some of these data sets are being developed and will be published here as they become available.
Think, buy, support Newcastle
Bid and award data by category
This data set tells us how many providers bid for each of our contract opportunities and how many were awarded, overlaid with provider location, contract type and category area. This helps us to understand the strength of our local markets in each category area. We add to this data set annually after the end of each financial year (April - March).
Bid and award data by provider
This data set tells us how many providers of different sizes bid for our contract opportunities and how many were awarded, overlaid with provider location. This helps is to understand the make up of our local markets in each category area. We add to this data set annually after the end of each financial year (April - March).
Small and medium sized enterprise investment
This data set tells us how much of our external spending has been invested in small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and whether these were local SMEs or whether they were based elsewhere. This helps us to understand how well we are going at keeping our spend local. We add to this data set quarterly throughout the financial year (April - March).
Community focused
Voluntary and community sector investment
This data set tells us how much of our external spending has been invested in the voluntary and community sector (VCS). This information is overlaid with investment type, location and size of the VCS organisation, and the main service category. We add to this data set annually in December.
