Nick Kemp, Leader, Newcastle City Council said: “Well done to all the young people across the city who are collecting their exam results today. I am immensely proud of how hard our pupils, staff and parents have worked, despite the challenges the last two years have brought, and I hope these results set you on a path to a bright future.

Cllr Sylvia Copley, Cabinet Member for a Growing City, Newcastle City Council added: “I would like to say well done to all our students today. This year’s students have had a very difficult time for the last two years and we are immensely proud of them all.

Receiving GCSE results can bring a mix of emotions for students as they consider the next chapter in their lives and for some their plans may still be uncertain, but there is an excellent range of support and advice available in the city to ensure their next steps put them on a path to a positive future.

I would also like to acknowledge the great work of our teachers and school staff across the city, who have played a pivotal role in supporting these pupils through challenges of the last two years.”

Anyone needing advice and support around exam results and their next steps can seek support from the Careers Team and other services at the Skills Hub in the Central Library, Monday – Friday 10am-5pm or by ringing 0191 2771944.
