Great North Run

The world’s biggest half marathon, the Great North Run, once again sets off from Newcastle on Sunday 10 September 2023.

It will follow its normal Newcastle to South Shields route, with 60,000 runners expected on the Central Motorway start line.

Runners and supporters are welcome to use our:

• 9 multi storey car parks
• 52 off street car parks
• around 2,200 street parking bays

There is no pre-booking of car park spaces and all car parking will be on a first come, first served basis.

Should access to any of our car parks be affected by road closures for the run, details will be added to our:
