We understand the vital role that private landlords play in offering a full and varied housing offer across the city.
Most private landlords provide professional housing offer; however housing legislation can be complicated and in some cases, landlords need a helping hand. We have a range of free services to help landlords and our team provides free professional advice to help you manage your lettings business.
Landlords who have vacant properties can promote their properties via our scheme. The scheme is free to landlords; all we ask is that the property is in good condition and affordable. You will gain a market advantage and prospective tenant can feel secure that the properties they are viewing are safe and well-maintained homes managed by professional landlords.
Help choosing the right tenant
We know that landlords can find it challenging choosing a suitable tenant, we can provide a free reference check which includes a five years housing history and an affordability check.
If a tenant does not have access to a cash deposit, we can provide a virtual one to ensure that landlords can let with the confidence of a deposit as security against damages and rent arrears.
Tenancy sign in support
From providing free online Assured Shorthold Tenancy (AST) templates, to offering support during a start of tenancy sign in, we can help tenants understand their rights and responsibilities to help get their tenancy off to the best start.
Advice and support
We know that most landlord are professional and understand what is expected of them in terms of their responsibilities to their tenants, but legislation can be complicated and changeable. We can provide free advice and support around many tenancy issues from managing rent arrears, gaining access for inspections and repairs, what to do with deposit and even how to gain possession of a property. Newcastle Accreditation Scheme
The Newcastle Housing Accreditation Scheme is a voluntary scheme that recognizes landlords who offer safe, decent, professionally managed homes. All accredited properties meet our standards which provides tenants with confidence when choosing a new home.
