Public health department

The council is responsible for improving the health of local people.

We do this through both dedicated services and our whole range of policies and decisions. 

We receive a grant specifically to be used on public health and its improvement.

Director of Public Health reports

Every year our Director of Public Health must produce and publish an independent annual report about how the lives of people in Newcastle are affected by a particular issue.
